【摘要】:Themethodofpowderdispersioninaliquidhasasignificanteffectontheresultsofaparticlesizedistributionanalysis.Theanalysiswillshowatoo-coarse,unstable,ornonrepeatabledistributionifthepowderhasnotbeendispersedadequately.Itisthereforeimportantthatpartieswishingtocomparetheiranalysesusethesamedispersiontechnique.Thisguideprovidesestablishedpowderdispersiontechniquesforcertainmaterialsandthemeansofderivingtechniquesformaterialsnotlisted.Itshouldbeusedbyallpartiesperformingliquid-dispersedparticlesizeanalysisofallofthematerialscoveredbythisguide(see1.1,1.2,and4.1).1.1Thisguidecoversthedispersioninliquidsofmetalpowdersandrelatedcompoundsforsubsequentuseinparticlesizeanalysisinstruments.Thisguidedescribesageneralprocedureforachievinganddeterminingdispersion;italsolistsproceduresthatarecurrentlyingeneraluseforcertainmaterials.1.2Thisguideislimitedtometalpowdersandrelatedmetalcompounds.However,thegeneralproceduredescribedhereinmaybeused,withcautionastoitssignificance,forotherparticulatematerials,suchasceramics,pigments,minerals,etc.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
