【摘要】:Thistestmethodmeasurestheperformanceoftheperimeterfirebarriersystemanditsabilitytomaintainasealtopreventfirespreadduringthedeflectionanddeformationoftheexteriorwallassemblyandfloorassemblyduringthefiretest,whileresistingfireexposurefromaninteriorcompartmentfireaswellasfromtheflameplumeemittedfromthewindowburnerbelow.Theendpointofthefireresistancetestistheperiodoftimeelapsingbeforethefirstconditionofcomplianceisreachedastheperimeterfirebarriersystemissubjectedtoatime-temperaturefireexposure.Thefireexposureconditionsusedarethosespecifiedbythistestmethodforthefirst30minofexposureandthenconformtotheTestMethodsE119time-temperaturecurvefortheremainderofthetestinthetestroom.Thistestmethodspecifiestheheatingconditions,methodsoftest,andcriteriaforevaluationoftheabilityofaperimeterfirebarriersystemtomaintainthefireresistancewhereafloorandexteriorwallassemblyarejuxtaposedtoaperimeterjoint.Testresultsestablishtheperformanceofperimeterfirebarriersystemsduringthefire-exposureperiodandshallnotbeconstruedashavingdeterminedthesuitabilityofperimeterfirebarriersystemsforuseafterthatexposure.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovidequantitativeinformationabouttheperimeterfirebarriersystemrelativetotherateofleakageofsmokeorgasesorboth.Whileitrequiresthatsuchphenomenabenotedandreportedwhendescribingthegeneralbehaviorofperimeterfirebarriersystemduringthefireresistancetest,suchphenomenaarenotpartoftheconditionsofcompliance.Potentiallyimportantfactorsandfirecharacteristicsnotaddressedbythistestmethodinclude,butarenotlimitedto:Theperformanceoftheperimeterfirebarriersystemconstructedwithcomponentsotherthanthosetested,andThecyclicmovementcapabilitiesofperimeterfirebarriersystemsotherthanthecyclingconditionstested.Thistestmethodisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,productsorassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditionsbutdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforthefire-hazardorfire-riskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIvaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thetextofthistestmethodreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
