【摘要】:Understandingthemechanicalpropertiesoffrozensoilsisofprimaryimportancetofrozengroundengineering.Datafromstrainratecontrolledcompressiontestsarenecessaryforthedesignofmostfoundationelementsembeddedin,orbearingonfrozenground.Theymakeitpossibletopredictthetime-dependentsettlementsofpilesandshallowfoundationsunderserviceloads,andtoestimatetheirshortandlong-termbearingcapacity.Suchtestsalsoprovidequantitativeparametersforthestabilityanalysisofundergroundstructuresthatarecreatedforpermanentorsemi-permanentuse.Itmustberecognizedthatthestructureoffrozensoilinsituanditsbehaviorunderloadmaydiffersignificantlyfromthatofanartificiallypreparedspecimeninthelaboratory.Thisismainlyduetothefactthatnaturalpermafrostgroundmaycontainiceinmanydifferentformsandsizes,inadditiontotheporeicecontainedinasmalllaboratoryspecimen.Theselargeground-iceinclusions(suchasicelenses)willconsiderablyaffectthetime-dependentbehavioroffull-scaleengineeringstructures.Inordertoobtainreliableresults,high-qualityundisturbedrepresentativepermafrostsamplesarerequiredforcompressionstrengthtests.Thequalityofthesampledependsonthetypeoffrozensoilsampled,theinsituthermalconditionatthetimeofsampling,thesamplingmethod,andthetransportationandstorageprocedurespriortotesting.Thebesttestingprogramcanberuinedbypoor-qualitysamples.Inaddition,onemustalwayskeepinmindthattheapplicationoflaboratoryresultstopracticalproblemsrequiresmuchcautionandengineeringjudgment.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthestrengthbehaviorofcylindricalspecimensoffrozensoil,subjectedtouniaxialcompressionundercontrolledratesofstrain.Itspecifiestheapparatus,instrumentation,andproceduresfordeterminingthestress-strain-time,orstrengthversusstrainraterelationshipsforfrozensoilsunderdeviatoriccreepconditions.1.2ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
