【摘要】:Thistestmethodisapplicabletoassessthein-placeuniformityofconcrete,todelineateregionsinastructureofpoorerqualityordeterioratedconcrete,andtoestimatein-placestrength.Relationshipsbetweenreboundnumberandconcretestrengththatareprovidedbyinstrumentmanufacturersshallbeusedonlytoprovideindicationsofrelativeconcretestrengthatdifferentlocationsinastructure.Tousethistestmethodtoestimatestrength,itisnecessarytoestablisharelationshipbetweenstrengthandreboundnumberforagivenconcretemixtureandgivenapparatus.Establishtherelationshipbycorrelatingreboundnumbersmeasuredonthestructurewiththestrengthsofcorestakenfromcorrespondinglocations.Atleasttworeplicatecoresshallbetakenfromatleastsixlocationswithdifferentreboundnumbers.Selecttestlocationssothatawiderangeofreboundnumbersinthestructureisobtained.Obtain,moisturecondition,andtestcoresinaccordancewithTestMethodC42/C42M.Note18212;SeeACI228.1Rforadditionalinformationondevelopingtherelationshipandonusingtherelationshiptoestimatein-placestrength.Foragivenconcretemixture,thereboundnumberisaffectedbyfactorssuchasmoisturecontentofthetestsurface,themethodusedtoobtainthetestsurface(typeofformmaterialortypeoffinishing),verticaldistancefromthebottomofaconcreteplacement,andthedepthofcarbonation.Thesefactorsneedtobeconsideredininterpretingreboundnumbers.Differenthammersofthesamenominaldesignmaygivereboundnumbersdifferingfrom1to3units.Therefore,testsshouldbemadewiththesamehammerinordertocompareresults.Ifmorethanonehammeristobeused,performtestsonarangeoftypicalconcretesurfacessoastodeterminethemagnitudeofthedifferencestobeexpected.Thistestmethodisnotsuitableasthebasisforacceptanceorrejectionofconcrete.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofareboundnumberofhardenedconcreteusingaspring-drivensteelhammer.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
