【摘要】:SNMmonitorsareaneffectivemeanstosearchpedestriansforconcealedSNM.Maintainingmonitoreffectivenessrestsonappropriatecalibrationandadjustmentbeingpartofacontinuingmaintenanceprogram.ThesignificanceofthisguideformonitoruserswhomustdetectSNMistodescribecalibrationandadjustmentproceduresforthepurpose.Thesignificanceofthisguideformonitormanufacturersistodescribecalibrationprocedures,particularlyfordetectingformsofSNMthatmaynotbereadilyavailabletothem.1.1Thisguidecoverscalibratingtheenergyresponseoftheradiationdetectorsandsettingthediscriminatorandalarmthresholdsusedinautomaticpedestrianspecialnuclearmaterial(SNM)monitors.1.2AutomaticpedestrianSNMMonitorsandtheirapplicationaredescribedinGuideC1112,whichsuggeststhatthemonitorsbecalibratedandtestedwheninstalledandthat,thereafter,thecalibrationshouldbecheckedandthemonitortestedwithSNMatthree-monthintervals.1.3DependableoperationofSNMmonitorsrests,inpart,onaneffectiveprogramtotest,calibrate,andmaintainthem.Theproceduresandmethodsdescribedinthisguidemayhelpbothtoachievedependableoperationandobtaintimelywarningofmisoperation.
